Site upgrade

Not major news but the MMISoftware weblog has been upgraded to WordPress v2.1.

From the user (reader) point of view (pardon the pun), there is really no obvious change. However, from my position, as the blogger, there are major changes. The web-admin interface is greatly improved with lots of new features. Plus, the Akismet blog spam filter has been upgraded – the filter is working well and has captured some 1000+ spam messages since 10 Jan 2007 and missed less than 10.

In other news: I am now using Ecto and TextMate for editing the blog. Ecto is being used for ‘general writing’ and then TextMate is used to clean up the code and add some additional links etc. There are some great screen casts over at TextMate Website which show how TextMate can be used. The one on blogging is particularly good – Blogging Screen Cast.

The blog over at thesnowsite has also been updated.

By the way, to get TextMate really working well with WordPress, i.e. using Markdown to post you entries, you need to add the Markdown plugin from Michel Fortin (Markdown Plugin).
