Frequently asked questions about Web Photos:
Why should I buy Web Photo when iPhoto is free?
Good question! Web Photos works in conjunction with iPhoto and is not a replacement. iPhoto can produce 'photo albums' for web and CD publication, however, control of iPhoto output is rather limited and this is where Web Photos comes in as it has greater control and flexibility. In addition, iPhoto can be used to manage your pictures, which can then be exported to a folder and used for input for Web Photos.
What is the minimum system configuration I will need?
A Mac that is running Mac OS X 10.2 or greater. In general, if your machine meets the requirements to run Mac OS X, and is running 10.2 or greater, it should be able to run Web Photos.
What will be the major change between versions 1 and 2?
You will have to wait and see! However, if you buy a key for version 1 it will work with version 2!
How was Web Photos developed?
Web Photos was developed on a PowerBook and an iMac, and extensively tested on an iBook (old 'clamshell' type) and a PowerBook and several iMacs. Development was carried out using the development tools (Project Builder and Interface Builder) and tested with MallocDebug and ObjectAlloc.
Why was Cocoa used?
It is the future of the Mac! It also allows access to all the new features which are part of Mac OS X.
Will there be a Mac OS 9 version of Web Photo?
No! Web Photos was developed for Mac OS X and above. There are no plans to port it to Mac OS 9.
Will there be a Windows version of Web Photo?
No!
