Well, sorry about that! Ever care was taken to squash bugs but as with any project some slip through. The program has been extensively tested. Please send your bug report to mailMaker_buemail@mmisoftware.co.uk, with full details of your machine and what happened, and we will attempt to squash the little so-and-so as soon as possible.
What is mailMaker?
mailMaker is a program which will allow you to construct, edit, save and send copies of an e-mail to multiple recepients.
With mailMaker you can set up a list of recipients using the OS X Address Book, or by typing in the addresses, add attachments (drag and drop or from file dialog boxes), add a subject line, and then add your main text. Then, with one simple click of a mouse, send your e-mails to your default e-mail application for 'personalisation' and mailing (MailMaker currently supports Apple Mail, Eudora, Microsoft Entourage and Mailsmith). It should be noted that MailMaker is not suitable for sending spam as e-mails are sent through standard OS X e-mail programs.
Aren't you supporting/helping spammers?
No! The way mailMaker works, i.e. via your standard e-mail package is totally unsuitable for sending spam.
Does mailMaker support international (Unicode) text?
mailMaker fully supports 'international' (Unicode) text. However, Unicode text is only fully supported when exporting to Apple Mail, it is partially supported by Entourage and PowerMail, and it is not supported when exporting to Eudora or Mailsmith. Unicode support requires 10.3 or greater.
Why should I buy mailMaker?
Good question! Well, you don't have to. However, if you want to be able to use the program without the annoying nag screen at start-up, or each e-mail containing the annoying tag line 'Produced with an unregistered copy of mailMaker from MMISoftware', then you will have to purchase a licence key.
Why won't mailMaker start/work?
mailMaker requires Mac OS 10.3 or greater to work.
What is the minimum system configuration I will need?
mailMaker will run on Mac OS X 10.3 or greater.
Why aren't OSs before 10.3 supported?
mailMaker was developed under 10.3 and extensively tested under 10.2 and 10.3. However, upon release it was discovered that certain configurations of 10.2 caused mailMaker a lot of problems, and also, 10.2 did not provide the level of Unicode text support required. It was therefore decided to stop the development and support of the code required to meet all the problems associated with running under 10.2.
How was mailMaker developed?
mailMaker was developed on an iBook and an iMac, and extensively tested on an iBook (old 'clamshell' type), a '12 in Al PB', a PowerBook (Bronze keyboard), a 12 inch iBook, and several different versions of the iMac. Development was carried out using the development tools (xCode and Interface Builder).
Why was Cocoa used?
It is the future of the Mac! It also allows access to all the new features which are part of Mac OS X.
Will there be a Mac OS 9 version of mailMaker?
No! mailMaker was developed for Mac OS X. There are no plans to port it to Mac OS 9.
Will there be a Windows version of mailMaker?
No!
