mailMaker FAQ
mailMaker is an easy to use Mac OS X program for the rapid creation of e-mail 'shots' to multiple recipients (Screen shots - Download - Purchase).
With mailMaker you can set up a list of recipients using the OS X address book or by typing in the addresses, attachments can be added (drag and drop or from file dialogue boxes), subject line added, and then the main text completed. Then, with one simple click of a mouse, the message can be sent to your default e-mail application for 'personalisation' and mailing (mailMaker currently supports Apple Mail, Eudora, Microsoft Entourage, PowerMail, and Mailsmith). It should be noted that mailMaker is not suitable for sending spam as the e-mails are sent through standard Mac OS X e-mail programs.
mailMaker is not an e-mail client as mailMaker uses your default mail application to send the final messages.
mailMaker has three key advantages:
- Messages can be saved for future use and archiving.
- E-mail addresses can be added directly from the Apple Address Book or 'manually'.
- Messages can be 'personalised' before sending.
mailMaker can be used for:
- Sending newsletters to friends. Using mailMaker you can set up a mailing list of friends for regular use to keep people informed. You can create the bulk of the message, add attachments (e.g. family photos etc.), send the messages to your mail client and then add personal touches before sending. This way your friends stay informed, and they each think they are getting their own message!
- Sending newsletters to clients. Using mailMaker you can set up a mailing list of clients, add the text of the message, add any attachments and send the message to your mail client. The messages can then be personalised for each client. In addition, no one gets to see the full client list!
- Sending newsletters to club/society member. Using mailMaker you can set up a mailing list of club/society members, add the text of the message, add any attachments and send the message to your mail client. The messages can then be personalised for each member. In addition, no one gets to see the full member list!
- Sending e-mails to class members. mailMaker is ideal for sending e-mail messages to classmates/class members. For example, teachers can use mailMaker to create a standard e-mail message to send to a class and then modify each message, after sending to the default mail application, to add a personalised touch for each student.
- Creating 'standard response'/template e-mail. If you have to send 'standard response'/template e-mails then these can be created in mailMaker and saved as 'stationary' documents for future use. The mailMaker document can be opened, the e-mail address(es) added, and the message sent to your mail client.
And many more...
mailMaker is written in Cocoa and therefore Mac OS X native. Why not give it a try?
The software is shareware ($15 US, approx. £10 GBP)* and can be purchased through this site. A demonstration version can be downloaded. The demo version has no disabled features other than it adds an 'unregistered' message to generated e-mails and it will display a 'nag' screen, when the program starts, after you have used the unregistered program more than 10 times.
