Overview

iCalMaker can automatically check for new versions when the program is started, or by selecting 'Version Check...' from the 'iCalMaker' menu.

It should be noted that no personal information is transmitted MMISoftware during the checking process. The process works just as if you had visited the MMISoftware website and manually checked for a change in version numbers.

Automatic Checks

Automatic checks are performed when the program starts. A simple query is sent the MMISoftware website to retrieve the latest version number. This is then compared against the version number of the program being used. If the version numbers are different then a window is displayed alerting the user of the availability of a new version. Automatic checks are only performed upon the first launch of the program on a day.

Manual Checks

Manual checks can be performed by selecting 'Version Check...' from the 'iCalMaker' menu. A window then appears and a simple query is sent the MMISoftware website to retrieve the latest version number. This is then compared against the version number of the program being used. If the version numbers are different then a window is displayed alerting the user of the availability of a new version.

Downloading

If a new version of iCalMaker is available then it can be downloaded either directly from the MMISoftware website (http://www.mmisoftware.co.uk) or by using the download button on the 'Version Check' window.
