Overview

Appointments, once created or imported, can be exported to Mail (as an attachment), as a vCal file, an iCal file, a tab-delimited file, a comma-delimited file, as a list (text) file, or directly to iCal.

Exporting to iCal

Appointments can be exported directly to the iCal program or saved as an iCal file (see below):

  1. Using the popup menu on the iCalMaker toolbar select the iCal calendar in to which you wish to export the appointments (if you have just created a new calendar in iCal and it is not in the popup menu select 'Update Calendar List' from the window menu).
  2. Either click on the 'To iCal' button on the toolbar (if available) or use the 'To iCal application...' command in the Export submenu of the File Menu.

It should be noted that if appointments were imported directly from iCal are exported back to iCal then you may get duplicate appointments. There is a window that will appear warning against such an export.

Exporting to Mail

Appointments can be exported to Mail by using either the 'To Mail' button on the toolbar (if available) or the 'To Mail application...' command in the Export submenu of the File Menu.

When the iCal file is exported you are presented with the option of adding 'invitees' to the appointment or just sending an iCal file for export.

To add invitees click on the appropriate button and select the people from your Address book listed in the bottom section of the sheet (only names which have an associated e-mail address are displayed).

In addition, at this stage, you can also select to add the appointments directly to your iCal calendar.

iCalMaker will export the iCal file to Apple Mail, Eudora, Entourage, PowerMail and Mailsmith.

Exporting to vCal file

Appointments can be exported to vCal files by using either the 'To vCal File' button on the toolbar (if available) or the 'To vCal file...' command in the Export submenu of the File Menu.

Exporting to iCal file

Appointments can be exported to iCal files by using either the 'To iCal File' button on the toolbar (if available) or the 'To iCal file...' command in the Export submenu of the File Menu.

Exporting to tab-delimited file

Appointments can be exported as a tab-delimited files by using either the 'To tab file' button on the toolbar (if available) or the 'To tab-delimited file...' command in the Export submenu of the File Menu.

During the export if the events contain repeating appointments it is possible to select whether the repeats are expanded or not. If the repeats are expanded then the appointments will be repeated in the output until the repeat period ends, the export contains only repeating events, or the last non-repeating entry in the data is encountered.

Exporting to comma-delimited file

Appointments can be exported as a comma-delimited files by using either the 'To comma file' button on the toolbar (if available) or the 'To comma-delimited file...' command in the Export submenu of the File Menu.

During the export if the events contain repeating appointments it is possible to select whether the repeats are expanded or not. If the repeats are expanded then the appointments will be repeated in the output until the repeat period ends, the export contains only repeating events, or the last non-repeating entry in the data is encountered.

Appointments can be exported to iCal files by using either the 'To text file' button on the toolbar (if available) or the 'To text (list) file...' command in the Export submenu of the File Menu.
