Overview
Besides importing appointments from files, or the clipboard, iCalMaker can also create entries directly.
Appointments can be date and time, or just date (i.e. all day event, or an event that spans several days). In addition, recurring and repeat events can also be created and edited.
Creating a new entry
It is simple to create a new entry! All you need to do is click on the blue cross in the toolbar, select 'New Entry...' in the file menu, or use 'command-N' (pressing 'return' once a section of an entry is active will also create a new entry).
Once the entry has been created the details can be entered. You can move between fields by using the tab key, times should be entered in the 24 hour clock format (e.g. 23:45) and dates in a 12/12/03 format (it should be noted that the date can be in any of the formats that are available in the short date format of the International system preferences, i.e. the system settings on your computer. If you change the date settings in the system settings iCalMaker will have to be restarted for the changes to take effect.).
Creating repeating/recurring appointments/events
Once an appointment has been created (see above) the entry can be made in to a recurring/repeating event by changing the settings in the repeat drawer from 'never' to one of the other categories (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly). The drawer can be opened by clicking on the 'drawer' button on the toolbar (the appointment to be edited needs to be selected).
Events can repeat for a number of times, to a set date or forever. Repeats can be setup as daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly.
In addition, it is also possible to have 'exclusion' dates in a repeating event, that is, you can specify dates within a repeat when the event will not occur. To add an 'exclusion' date click the 'plus' button next to the exclusion date list and add the necessary dates.
Deleting entries
Entries can be deleted by selecting either single or multiple entries and using the delete button on the toolbar, the delete command in the edit menu, or using the delete key.
