bmrCal - a Basal Metabolic Rate calculator

bmrCal (or the 'M' calculator) is a Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). Your BMR is the amount of energy your body would use in a day to stay alive and to maintain your current weight. Your BMR is dependent upon your sex, your weight, your height and your age. In addition, the figure can be adjusted for your type of lifestyle e.g. sedentary, light active etc. - more information on BMR

The calculator can be used for metric (weight: kilogram (kg); height: meters (m)), pound (weight: pounds (lb); height: feet (ft) and inches (in)), and imperial (weight: stones (st) and pounds (lb); height: feet (ft) and inches (in)) BMR calculations. The calculator will report the BMR, automatically convert between different units (so, if you enter pounds the calculator can also tell you the kilograms).

The bmrCal will also calculate your BMR depending on your life style, that is, sedentary, lightly active, moderately active, very active and extremely active.
